Omri Levy's new EP "about:blank"
is the first album to be recorded entirely onto a mobile phone! Once
in a few years, Levy releases a "one off" project that captures a
moment in his life and challenges himself to stand in front of the
recorder with just basic instruments - leaving all production
tactics / defenses aside.
2 years ago he collaborated with
Shany Kedar
for the "album
a day" project 'Unlit
Cigarettes', this time round it's a collection of demo tapes/
vital sketches recorded on his new mobile phone!
"…'about:blank'
is the starting point of most of my online journeys. You start and
never know where you're going to end up. The same thing goes with
this EP: it's the purest, most sincere way to serve my songs / that
untarnished place where you can view the songs in their natural
colors and catch their primal scent. Most of the songs on this EP
were written a few years ago but never found their way on any of my
records."
The EP
is an "internet only" release. [192 Kbps, 24 MB]
The album was recorded
on a Nokia N80 handset, using
Alon MP3
dictaphone.
